Alison has lived in Palo Alto with her family for over twenty years. In 2012, she received the Tall Tree Outstanding Citizen award for her work on Palo Alto public libraries as chair of the successful library bond in 2008 and President of the Palo Alto Library Foundation, which raised and donated more than $4 million to the city.

Alison worked at Hewlett-Packard in finance and sales and at Google in communications and customer support. Her two kids attended K-12 at Palo Verde, JLS, and Gunn. She sings alto in a community choir, serves on the board of the Palo Alto Community Fund, volunteers in East Palo Alto as a role model with 10 Books a Home, and can often be found walking her dog, Emma, in the neighborhood.
